Shingle type?

Not sure if this is a NW thing , but, I am pretty sure I was once told that these are called butterfly shingles? Could be wrong. Just trying to pin down a rough date of install. Guessing 90's.

Those are Certainteed Hallmark Shangles. Probably from the early '90s.

Some of those shingles manufactured between 87 and 2005 were subject to a class action lawsuit for being defective (organic shingles only).

Names included Hallmark Shangle, Independence Shangle, Horizon Shangle, Custom Sealdon, Custom Sealdon 30, Sealdon 20, Sealdon 25, Hearthstead, Solid Slab, Master Slab, Custom Saf-T-Lok, Saf-T-Lok, and Custom Lok 25.

Not all of the shingles marketed under those names were Certainteed Organic.
