Robert Jones Posted September 20, 2013 Report Posted September 20, 2013 Home built in 1991. Original roof/shingles. The front facing, second story never had gutter(s)/downspout(s). Wouldn't this be considered roof to roof drainage and void shingle warranties? I am calling the shingles for replacement, was just curious as to the gutter issue.
Jerry Lozier Posted September 20, 2013 Report Posted September 20, 2013 May be a regional thing in your wetter area. No gutter requirement on east side so I don't know if roofing manufacturers pick and choose their warranties by climate. Only time I call them is when an actual downspout is dumping on shingles.
Tom Raymond Posted September 20, 2013 Report Posted September 20, 2013 Nearly every 1991 house I see with original shingles is in need of a new roof whether it has gutters or not.
