Mike Lamb Posted July 30, 2013 Report Posted July 30, 2013 When you see a smooth stucco do you identify it as just stucco. I have seen it called Santa Barbara stucco. Around here stucco is nearly always textured and my client had trouble with me calling it just plain stucco. Click to Enlarge 64.56 KB
Nolan Kienitz Posted July 30, 2013 Report Posted July 30, 2013 In our realm (or maybe 'my' realm) down here it is either stucco (traditional head-coat) or EIFS. I don't get into "type of texture" ... as it were.
kurt Posted July 30, 2013 Report Posted July 30, 2013 I would call that "cracked stucco". I don't make any differentiation between texture and smooth; the client sounds a little goofy. It's stucco, either hard coat, 2, 3, 4 coat, EIFS, etc., I identify it by the substrates and drainage (or lack thereof).
gtblum Posted July 30, 2013 Report Posted July 30, 2013 The good news is, the "stucco" packed into the bottom of that rotted window frame, doesn't have a crack in it.
Rocon Posted July 30, 2013 Report Posted July 30, 2013 Only addressing the finish it appears to be a sand float finish not a smooth finish.
Wasden Posted August 1, 2013 Report Posted August 1, 2013 For info on plaster TSIB.org is a good resource.
ghentjr Posted August 1, 2013 Report Posted August 1, 2013 Not sure what it is applied to, but this might help. http://www.stuccoguru.com/resources/art ... sourceID=2
