Stephen Lagueux Posted July 22, 2013 Report Posted July 22, 2013 100 amps Siemens sub panel. Beside its obvious informational role, this 25 amp. max sticker right next and, pointing to the 100 amp main breaker makes me wonder which one should'nt be there, the sticker or the breaker?? What say you? [:-banghea Click to Enlarge 45.77 KB
Garet Posted July 23, 2013 Report Posted July 23, 2013 I interpret that to mean 25 amp max on the breaker opposite the main (the unfilled space where the sticker shows)... although I can't imagine a reason for such a restriction.
Marc Posted July 23, 2013 Report Posted July 23, 2013 I'm willing to bet you that sticker was meant to be somewhere else. If the main is within panel limits as shown on the label, ignore the sticker. Just pay attention to the panel label. Marc

John Kogel Posted July 23, 2013 Report Posted July 23, 2013 Everybody is right so far, the Max arrow is indicating the position opposite the 100 amp breaker. The label looks to be factory installed. Yes, the Canadian factory might still be churning out product, amazing, or maybe the factory is offshore, who knows? I think they are saying the max total capacity for each of those tabs is 125 amps, eh? It is actually more common to see a sticker prohibiting the use of those slots altogether, probably a safer choice if the main breaker could be upsized to 125.
Stephen Lagueux Posted July 23, 2013 Author Report Posted July 23, 2013 I guess it would make sense to limit the breaker size next to the main. I'll try to contact siemens just to see what they say about it. Thanks guys.
Jim Port Posted July 23, 2013 Report Posted July 23, 2013 John was correct. There is a 125 amp bus stab rating. Since 100 is already accounted for the maximum is a 25 amp on the same tabs. Very common and not a mistake. The label inside the panel will have all this information on it.
