Mike Lamb Posted June 2, 2013 Report Posted June 2, 2013 Can 2 AC compressor units be run on one 240V breaker. If not, what would the appropriate NEC reference be. Thanks. Click to Enlarge 66.05 KB
Marc Posted June 2, 2013 Report Posted June 2, 2013 You can have a feeder circuit/sub-panel serving both condensers but you need a separate branch breaker for each condenser in order to satisfy nameplate specs. The manufacturer assumes one circuit serves one condenser. Wiring it otherwise would violates those specs. If that's a disconnect in the photo and it serves both units, something's wrong otherwise the breaker couldn't maintain the combined currents of both units. Marc
