John Dirks Jr Posted May 27, 2013 Report Posted May 27, 2013 I found a new app called TouchPad. It works fantastic with Siri to dictate through Wi-Fi onto the PC. The app cost $4.99 but it's worth every penny in my opinion. There's a free program called TightVNC that you install on your PC to supplement the app. With my set up, I'm also using a good quality of Bluetooth earpiece. This makes it especially easy since I don't have to hold the phone up and speak into the microphone. The Jabra Extreme Bluetooth earpiece that I use has very excellent capability to block out background noise. I can dictate in a room where the television is on and it still only picks up my voice and does so accurately. I have been using Dragon Speak for dictation for a couple of years now. However, I had problems with my Dragon speak program working on new Dell laptop that I bought to back up my HP laptop. That's what got me searching for alternatives and led me on the path to the TouchPad app. I think I'm going to ditch Dragon Speak and use TouchPad on both laptops. If you're a slow typer like me and you have an iPhone with Siri, check out TouchPad. I think you'll like it.
mark parlee Posted September 27, 2015 Report Posted September 27, 2015 John Just looking through this old post. Is this info still current or have you changed your method of dictation?
