4000sposse Posted May 17, 2013 Report Posted May 17, 2013 This doesn't look right to me, but maybe it is allowed within the mechanical closet and for a short distance??? Click to Enlarge 55.56 KB
4000sposse Posted May 17, 2013 Author Report Posted May 17, 2013 After a little research there are flex b-vents out there that can be used. I just have never seen or heard of one, and intuitively I think they are a bad idea. Too easy to get deformed , or smashed turning a two walled vent into a one wall vent... Should have researched more before posting, thanks though. flex b-vent
Hearthman Posted May 18, 2013 Report Posted May 18, 2013 Flexible vent connectors are much stiffer than aluminum chimney liner or dryer venting you may be comparing it to. They must be stiff enough to maintain their position including the 1" clearance to combustibles. the fittings on each end are listed. Any more pics showing that WH connection?
4000sposse Posted May 18, 2013 Author Report Posted May 18, 2013 sorry no other pics of the WH connection.
Brandon Whitmore Posted May 18, 2013 Report Posted May 18, 2013 That's the flexible, approved vent material I'm used to seeing.
kurt Posted May 18, 2013 Report Posted May 18, 2013 For a B vent transition? It looks like mangled dryer duct to me. Maybe it's time to retire.....
Bill Kibbel Posted May 18, 2013 Report Posted May 18, 2013 Selkirk (MetalBest) flexible vent connector.
