Window water stains around nails

[Erby]

15 year old, vinyl sided house.

Moisture meter said everything was dry including the drywall under the windows.

No visible leak sources around the outside of the windows.

Stains were present on both west and east facing windows.

Any ideas.

That looks like cheap common lumber to me. Knots and pitch pockets in white pine will bleed for decades.

Exactly what Raymond said. Shoulda sealed it with shellac before they painted.

Sharing questions and knowledge is what it's all about. I've learned more here than anywhere else.

I used to participate heavily in other message boards also but as my inspections increased and time available for surfing shortened, I've had to drop back to less participation. Pretty much limited to here now, though I occasionally visit the others. The bullshit and whining that doesn't happen here, well not much anyway, is what keeps bring me back here.
