Denray Posted April 8, 2013 Report Posted April 8, 2013 A Realtor was told this was on one of our local houses. Does such a thing exist?[:-bigeyes
Erby Posted April 9, 2013 Report Posted April 9, 2013 I've only seen the cement asbestos shingle type siding. Never seen board and batten asbestos.
Denray Posted April 9, 2013 Author Report Posted April 9, 2013 That's what I told him, but you never know. Thanks Erby!
John Kogel Posted April 9, 2013 Report Posted April 9, 2013 Hardy makes a board and batten product, probably what he's got.
Bill Kibbel Posted April 9, 2013 Report Posted April 9, 2013 Sure. I've seen it on many homes built during the 1950s. Most in this area are modest ranch style homes built on slab. I've seen old print ads for it too.
Denray Posted April 9, 2013 Author Report Posted April 9, 2013 Bill, do those products have asbestos in them? A home inspector said that this house, which I haven't seen, had board and batten asbestos siding.
hausdok Posted April 9, 2013 Report Posted April 9, 2013 How old is the home? I'm thinking it's be Hardipanel with wood battens applied. If it's a newer home and someone doens't know what Hardipanel with battens applied is they'd probably think it was an asbestos board. ONE TEAM - ONE FIGHT!!! Mike

Les Posted April 9, 2013 Report Posted April 9, 2013 we have it on lots of houses from 1950 to abt 1060. Usually used in conjunction with brick veneer and wide wood trims.
