Mike Lamb Posted February 12, 2013 Report Posted February 12, 2013 Why do you think someone would shoot nails into a lally column? Carpenters being carpenters? Click to Enlarge 34.01 KB Click to Enlarge 45.87 KB
Tom Raymond Posted February 13, 2013 Report Posted February 13, 2013 .22 caliber pins? That was a noisy coffee break. The last big commercial job I worked on the framers had a .45 caliber Hilti to bang plates and furring into the I beams the floor trusses sat on. It would have driven the pins flush in that soft lally.
Erby Posted February 13, 2013 Report Posted February 13, 2013 C'mon Mike. You don't recognize a clothes rack
Marc Posted February 13, 2013 Report Posted February 13, 2013 First I've ever heard of a lally column. How did they drive the nails? 22 cal nail driver or is it thin enough to use a hammer? Marc
emalernee Posted February 13, 2013 Report Posted February 13, 2013 Shot 2X bracing to the column while the house was being built? Knocked off the 2X's and left the nails?
gtblum Posted February 13, 2013 Report Posted February 13, 2013 Might be one of this guy's firsts. [utube] " type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="344">
Mike Lamb Posted February 13, 2013 Author Report Posted February 13, 2013 Shot 2X bracing to the column while the house was being built? Knocked off the 2X's and left the nails? Bingo, I'm guessing. Otherwise, just don't make no sense.
