Jerry Simon Posted February 11, 2013 Report Posted February 11, 2013 My wife snapped this out in our back yard the other night. First to identify wins one of my old construction books. Click to Enlarge 23.76?KB
ghentjr Posted February 11, 2013 Report Posted February 11, 2013 Venus bird bath/feeder. She is a leading kitchen garden Nymph.
John Kogel Posted February 12, 2013 Report Posted February 12, 2013 It's Snow White. The dwarves are there under all that white stuff. []
Mike Lamb Posted February 12, 2013 Report Posted February 12, 2013 Is that snow? We don't have diddle down south. I don't know what the apparition is. A neighbor bringing over food?
Jerry Simon Posted February 12, 2013 Author Report Posted February 12, 2013 Yeah, kinda a bird feeder, but not really. Yes, Mr. Lamb, snow. We got about a foot.
hausdok Posted February 12, 2013 Report Posted February 12, 2013 Hmmm, One of those fancy pedestals with a reflective globe on top and a couple of bird baths held up by arms on the side?
Jerry Simon Posted February 12, 2013 Author Report Posted February 12, 2013 It's actually a statue my wife bought for me after visiting Bonaventure Cemetery outside Savannah, GA ten years ago. We have a small spotlight on it, and the other night, with the snow, it just looked really eerie, cool, etc. Spent our 25th wedding anniv in Savannah ten years ago, and returning in April for our 35th. If you've never been there, ya gotta go. (Lamb should go; he'd then have a different perspective about leaning buildings and how long they might last.) Thought someone would recognize the statue, 'specially if one ever read Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.
ghentjr Posted February 12, 2013 Report Posted February 12, 2013 The Bird Girl is no longer there. The 1994 cover of "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" brought so much attention to a Savannah cemetery statue that it was moved to a museum for safekeeping.
