gtblum Posted January 25, 2013 Report Posted January 25, 2013 We got a little bit of snow Monday. Not enough to bother anyone but the GMA crew sent to report about it. Saw this on my way home today. I'm glad I grabbed the camera and went back. I'd rather be lucky than good. Enjoy. Click to Enlarge 36.56 KB
Jim Morrison Posted January 26, 2013 Report Posted January 26, 2013 Winter? That's just some poor skating weather is all!
Erby Posted January 26, 2013 Report Posted January 26, 2013 We had good skating weather in my area of Kentucky yesterday. Even the fire trucks enjoyed it! Click to Enlarge 41.19 KB
Mike Lamb Posted January 26, 2013 Report Posted January 26, 2013 Chicago got its first measurable snowfall yesterday in 335 days. 1".
John Kogel Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 Wow, Erby, that looks like a serious blow to the fire dept. Hope they weren't on their way to an emergency. We've had a mild one so far. Couple of days of frost. I mowed the grass just before Xmas, but I didn't really need to, just mulching some leaves.
hausdok Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 Saw an SUV about an hour ago painted up with some of that paint they use when they want to cheer on a sports team or when putting prices on windshields at the used car dealer. The car said: "369 Days without sky. I want ANSWERS!" I assumed they were referring to the sucky weather but I'm pretty sure that if they are it's not an accurate number. ONE TEAM - ONE FIGHT!!! Mike
Marc Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 No snow, no ice, one foggy morning and an abundance of rain. Marc

Mike Maybe they're from Port Angeles. There's a fog bank that seems to live there. But no, they had sunshine for 3 days in June. We did a bike tour to Blyn on the old railway bed. Waited 3 months for the right weather. []
Phillip Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 We had a little snown Stayed in spots for two days.
Erby Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 Yeah, they were, John. Did a neat 360 on the ice on the road but when the tires hit the grass, over it went. Fortunately, just bumps and bruises.
Robert E Lee Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 We're spending the winter in the Rio Grande Valley at Mission, Texas. Temp at the moment is 73 going for 82 today, must say I'm not missing the Minnesota winter! Was planning on coming down for the month of February, but the first cold windy day last fall I came home and told my wife "I've made a decision, we're going to Texas for the winter", so far it's proven to be a good decision.
davidlord Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 73 here today headed for 84 Wednesday.
Erby Posted January 29, 2013 Report Posted January 29, 2013 Ah Robert. Hope you enjoy it. I spent five years in McAllen from 92-95. Saw it snow once. Didn't even hit the ground but it was in the air.
gtblum Posted January 30, 2013 Author Report Posted January 30, 2013 Check out this 24 hr forecast. We hit 60 today, heavy rain tonight with widespread flooding, winds between 20 and 40, with gusts to 60 tomorrow during the day, and by this time tomorrow night, we should be right back in the middle of a lake effect dusting of four to eight inches. Edit. I saw the forecast for the rest of you. Nevermind.
