Denray Posted January 22, 2013 Report Posted January 22, 2013 Sometimes I see this shinny glazing in crawl spaces. On the wood or concrete. Is it some kind of pest poison? Click to Enlarge 91.23 KB
Jim Katen Posted January 22, 2013 Report Posted January 22, 2013 I watched a slug crawling along the edge of a crawlspace. That is my dream. That is my nightmare. Crawling, slithering... along the edge... of a crawl ... space ... and surviving
Tom Raymond Posted January 22, 2013 Report Posted January 22, 2013 A bowl of beer outside the vent will fix that. Replace it daily. Nice poem. Maybe Jimmy can get you published.

gtblum Posted January 22, 2013 Report Posted January 22, 2013 A bowl of beer outside the vent will fix that. Replace it daily. He's right about that. I haven't had a slug near me in years.
allseason Posted January 22, 2013 Report Posted January 22, 2013 I knew I had this photo somewhere. Click to Enlarge 76.43?KB Banana Slug, I've seen them only once, in Muir Woods, Northern CA. The beer thing for slugs works really well, although for the larger ones your going to need a porter or a stout.
John Kogel Posted January 23, 2013 Report Posted January 23, 2013 Bananas, Leopard slugs, Tiny slugs, Black Panthers, we've got them all here. We got them with shells on their backs too, but then they become snails. We got Moon snails that live only in the ocean and can drill a hole in a clam shell. Jim, you know the poem "the Elephant is Slow to Mate" DH Lawrence or EE Cummings? Ever see slugs mate? [] They go head to head, hermaphrodites. I'm not kidding.
Jim Katen Posted January 23, 2013 Report Posted January 23, 2013 . . . Jim, you know the poem "the Elephant is Slow to Mate" DH Lawrence or EE Cummings? Ever see slugs mate? [] They go head to head, hermaphrodites. I'm not kidding. I'll look up the poem and pass on the mating. Just so that no one thinks that I actually wrote the poem, it's lifted from somewhere else. I would have thought that Kurt, at least, would have recognized the reference.
kurt Posted January 23, 2013 Report Posted January 23, 2013 It slipped by me....I hate slugs. But, it ticked something.....I was almost there. The horror, the horror....... Why do you sit on your helmets? So we don't get our balls blown off. I love that smell. Smell that, boy?
Denray Posted January 23, 2013 Author Report Posted January 23, 2013 You people are sick. I come in here with a serious question and look where it goes. I just hope I can get over this.
Stephen Lagueux Posted January 23, 2013 Report Posted January 23, 2013 ain't that some kind of aluminum paint they used to use ine the past to cover up smoke or fire dammage?
Denray Posted January 23, 2013 Author Report Posted January 23, 2013 It didn't taste like it. That's why I was wondering if it was poison.
hausdok Posted January 23, 2013 Report Posted January 23, 2013 Maybe they smeared Preparation H around there. OT - OF!!! M.
ghentjr Posted January 23, 2013 Report Posted January 23, 2013 It is the "goop from the galopita galopita machine".
