Denray Posted December 13, 2012 Report Posted December 13, 2012 Is this fitting OK here where the other sink drain comes in. I think it is a cleanout T. Shouldn't it be a sanitary T? Click to Enlarge 58.3 KB
LeePlace Posted December 13, 2012 Report Posted December 13, 2012 Denny, It's OK as it is part of the tubular drain assembly and has a baffel inside to direct the water downward. Lee
Jim Katen Posted December 13, 2012 Report Posted December 13, 2012 If it's an end-waste tee with a diverter baffle and if it's not installed upside down, it's fine. With PVC fittings, you can put your flashlight behind them and see the baffle. That probably won't work with ABS.
Denray Posted December 13, 2012 Author Report Posted December 13, 2012 Thanks guys. Notice the washer wand behind. It got pulled out for the DW air gap. Only one spare hole up topside. I didn't check it for pressure cause I didn't want it possibly leaking in an unoccupied house.
Tom Raymond Posted December 14, 2012 Report Posted December 14, 2012 How old was the DW? If it's less than 10 years it should come with a factory installed high loop and not need an air gap. I had an RE ask me once if I was going to inspect the appliances, her parents were my clients and were out of town. I replied that they were spending $200k on the house, are they really concerned about a couple hundred bucks worth of used appliances? No? I didn't think so. Beyond the basic safety stuff, I only inspect antique appliances.
