Chere53
I just bought a condo and I find that I turn on the heating control and set it to 70 but the heat keeps coming and it gets to be 82+ degrees in here - I even take the control off the wall, and the heat still stays on. I literally have to turn the circuit breaker off to shut the heat down - What could be my issues - give me anything anyone can think of[:-crazy] =
hausdok
Your thermostat is either broken or it isn't talking to the furnace. Did you check the batteries in the thermostat? ONE TEAM - ONE FIGHT!!! Mike
Marc
If turning the heat control doesn't turn it off, I'd suspect a stuck sequencer. The sequencer is a relay that energizes the blower and primary heating element. Marc

John Kogel
A home inspector could have told you about the problem before you bought the condo. It sounds like electric heat to me - call an electrician if that is the case. He can inspect your breaker panel as well.
