Jerry Simon Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 Have had more *mouse* houses lately than ever, and big-time infestations. The drought?
hausdok Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 Hi Jerry, Hope you're wearing a full nose/mouth respirator with a P100 filter. The number of folks that have come down with Hanta Virus this year is way up over what it used to be. Seems deer mice are exploding in growth all over the place. ONE TEAM - ONE FIGHT!!! Mike
kurt Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 Maybe drought. I heard someone theorizing it's also due to predator imbalance; things like West Nile and environment destabilization have taken out natural predation. Not my theory, but seems reasonable.
John Kogel Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 Kill the rats and trap all the coons, keep a dog that hates cats, and leave dogfood out all over the place.
allseason Posted October 10, 2012 Report Posted October 10, 2012 I just set traps in my attic and basement today, new evidence as of last night. Looks like their coming in from the cold and looking for nesting sites. Here in Northern NJ I find evidence in 9 out of 10 attics. May also have to do with more vacant properties due to foreclosures and short sales. I hoping to hear the "snap" in the night tonight.
