I catch over fused circuits all the time but over fused is an under statement on this one!

The lower 240v range circuit (50amp) is being served by 12g. Yikes!

Good one to keep in mind. A little puff of smoke would tell the story better than words.

It can be a real guessing game sometimes when wires are all crossed up. A couple of days ago, one leg of the #8 hot tub feeder was on a 15 amp breaker, labelled 'workshop', and the 40 amp hot tub breaker had two #14's on it. I described it all and called for an electrician to figure it out.
