resqman
Son rafted the Rio Grande yesterday in New Mexico. Hope he has as much fun as those in the video. He hits the backcountry today for 12 days of backpacking. Wish I was with him.
John Dirks Jr
I have white water rafted a few times. Here's me an friends on the Cheat River in WV. It's one of few rivers that flows in a northerly direction. I'm all the way to the left in the photo going down into the hole. rkenney
It's one of few rivers that flows in a northerly direction. These rivers run North: Nile River, Russia's Ob, Lena, and Yenisey Rivers, the Red River in the United States and Canada, Canada's Mackenzie River, and California's San Joaquin River just to name a few. There are hundreds of rivers that run north. Contrary to popular legend rivers run downhill from source to mouth regardless of compass direction. 'Course you did know that, didn't you? I wasn't off on the fact that few flow north. Considering the vast numbers of rivers in the world, the information at the following link would support my statement that few flow north. http://www.worldatlas.com/aatlas/infopage/riversno.htm What exactly are you suggesting that I did or didn't know Bob? Is it a smirky attempt to suggest that I didn't know rivers flow down hill? There you go again.
