Denray
Fancy gutter guards still get plugged in a way that allows run off to go over the top of them. At least they can be cleaned from below, perhaps. Click to Enlarge 78.02 KB Click to Enlarge 65.37 KB
ghentjr
I have had a similar product called gutter helmet for many years and it has worked very well. Yes, they can be cleaned.
kurt
I see them "not working" all the time. The ones that work best are those that don't have any trees around them.
John Dirks Jr
That looks like Gutter Topper. I have it on my house and have to clean it periodically. I'm probably going to ditch it eventually and go with 6" open gutters and just clean as needed. I'll make the change when the new roof comes which is just around the corner. Mike Lamb
A woman had me inspect her roof because it was sagging badly. The framing had failed and it was hideously obvious from the street. She did not want reinforcement but for the sagging to be gone, so I told her she would have to tear the whole roof off and rebuild it which would be expensive and a big inconvenient project. She was OK with that. She had gutter helmets and asked if they could be saved when the new roof was done so I asked if they were that good. She said they were horrible but too damned expensive to throw away. True story.
Denray
"She said they were horrible but too damned expensive to throw away. True story". Like paying fool price for ski boots mid November and keeping them even though they eat your feet.
