John Dirks Jr Posted May 28, 2012 Report Posted May 28, 2012 I had no work obligations the past two days. Considering how much I've been working lately, it seemed like a two week vacation. It's been a relaxing two days in memory of our brave fallen. We did a loop with no back tracking. We began at home and went to the southern end of Shenandoah National Park VA. and drove northward the entire length of Skyline Drive. Stayed overnight in Front Royal VA. then continued north through Harpers Ferry WV. Finally, we cut southeast towards home. We pretty much avoided major interstates all the way and saw lots of great country side. Here are a few of the pictures I took along the way. Bill Kibbel Posted May 29, 2012 Report Posted May 29, 2012 That reminded me of some great times. We had a cottage (1850s - hewn logs) in a hollar bordering Shenandoah Park, east of Luray. I also lived in SE Virginia for a couple years. I can't count how many times I've driven the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive. In 2 weeks, I'll be in southeastern VA.
