Brandon Whitmore Posted April 2, 2012 Report Posted April 2, 2012 This one gave me a chuckle today. I'm not sure if it was intended as a bidet, or if someone used it to shower while sitting on the throne Click to Enlarge 20.61 KB
Scottpat Posted April 2, 2012 Report Posted April 2, 2012 Most likely to wash out a bedpan or something similar..
inspector57 Posted April 2, 2012 Report Posted April 2, 2012 Bidet, I see it quite frequently in certain ethnic/religious instances. Obviously they need to go, no backflow prevention and usually uses a self-piercing valve.
Brandon Whitmore Posted April 2, 2012 Author Report Posted April 2, 2012 no backflow prevention That's the technical reason I told them it had to go. I have a feeling it will make a mess as well. The agent told me that this is quite common in some countries. usually uses a self-piercing valve. That's what I expected to see, but they actually used a compression T.
Rob Amaral Posted April 2, 2012 Report Posted April 2, 2012 BTW, I inspected a place recently that had solid-alabaster toilets in it.. carved... not kidding...alabaster sinks as well.. fixtures were brass but gold-plated... Gaudiest things I've ever seen in my life.. "Early Saddam"...
Erby Posted April 2, 2012 Report Posted April 2, 2012 I'd go with Scott's explanation, not poor man's bidet. Water's too cold for that. At least, that's what the seller told me when I found one like that.
edwardh1 Posted April 7, 2012 Report Posted April 7, 2012 common in turkey on pit toilets to have a water tap near the throne, probably to clean your hand. ugh.
hausdok Posted April 7, 2012 Report Posted April 7, 2012 common in turkey on pit toilets to have a water tap near the throne, probably to clean your hand. ugh. That'd be the left hand. It's that way throughout the middle east. That's why it's an insult there to touch someone with your left hand. You also don't want to walk into a public crapper over there without bringing a roll of T.P. with you or you might find yourself learning the local custom the hard way. ONE TEAM - ONE FIGHT!!! Mike

ejager Posted May 2, 2012 Report Posted May 2, 2012 Japan has been doing the handwashing above the tank trick for decades. Not much room for those of us with big hands, and the newest low flow toilets don't provide a lot of water so wash quick!
