Terence McCann Posted June 2, 2005 Report Posted June 2, 2005 You'll enjoy the pics. Also had a 900 sq ft addition - no permits were ever pulled. The home owner did most of the work himself. Also, they had vented the dryer through the roof (as part of the new addition). I wouldn't think the little dryer fan has enough static for that kind of push (ranch style home). I checked our state codes, based on IRC, and there wasn't anything about not doing this (I had always thought sidewall though). I stated that it wasn't correct anyway, they used a flue vent cap that you might find on a furnace flue, no back-draft damper etc. Also, I wouldn't imagine that the manufacture wants it vented up. kurt Posted June 2, 2005 Report Posted June 2, 2005 Don't you wish that our reporting standards included a provision for using a big rubber stamp that says "POS", and simply mashing it in bright red ink on a cover letter w/ the address of the property? Not very informative, but to the point.
Chad Fabry Posted June 2, 2005 Report Posted June 2, 2005 That place could be the Home Depot poster child
Terence McCann Posted June 2, 2005 Author Report Posted June 2, 2005 I think my favorite pic is 777. Because the main power feeders were to short to reach the main breaker they used multiple wires attached to each feeder and then attached to the main breaker to compensate. [:-crazy]
chrisprickett Posted June 2, 2005 Report Posted June 2, 2005 Well, at least you can blame it on the homeowner! These are from a $1M custom new build I did yesterday. I'm just showing you some highlights, the list is endless... hausdok Posted June 2, 2005 Report Posted June 2, 2005 Dontcha just love the way "professional builders" gripe about home inspectors who don't know their ass from their elbow, yet they have to go to the proctologist to get their teeth cleaned because their heads are stuck so far up their bums? Bet this guy is one. ONE TEAM - ONE FIGHT!!! Mike
Garcha Posted June 3, 2005 Report Posted June 3, 2005 OOH, OOH I got some fun ones. hausdok Posted June 3, 2005 Report Posted June 3, 2005 Okay, you need to rename the files and replace spaces in the file name and replace the parenthesis with an understrike symbol. Like this: Why_am_I_here_small.jpg ONE TEAM - ONE FIGHT!!! Mike
Terence McCann Posted June 3, 2005 Author Report Posted June 3, 2005 I'd like to see the 100 years of poop myself. Is it the same as a 100 year old POS? []
Garcha Posted June 4, 2005 Report Posted June 4, 2005 I always find poop in the funniest places. I dropped some pics of what looked like Goose poop in a panel box but nobody said a word. Figured I was full of ..it.
Garcha Posted June 4, 2005 Report Posted June 4, 2005 Hope these work. They are fun to look at. I have them on my screen saver. I thought it was some kind of old insulation until I picked up a handfull and then I didn't want to believe it. Download Attachment: 100yrsofPoop.jpg 77.8 KB This was the poster child for 911...in a wet crawl space no less. Needless to say no touchee no feelee. Download Attachment: FuseboxFromHell.jpg 41.43 KB There were two of these piles and no insulation anywhere else. What about the fire streaking? Download Attachment: Insulation_nest.jpg 55.26 KB Lets see, Spout extension was cool, I didn't notice the absent access, I couldn't get close enough to the fuse box to find the ground, so where was the GFCI? Download Attachment: only_in_a_rehab.jpg 30.24 KB Download Attachment: Tape_what.jpg 41.32 KB Download Attachment: why_am_I_here.jpg 49.38 KB
Amn Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 "Why am I here.jpg" Well, that explains the fire streaking... A
Garcha Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 But it does beg the question, HOW am I here? Mike Garcia Rehabs are like dirty under wear, you wouldn't want them over your head. Well maybe...[:-drunk]
