Ben H Posted February 28, 2012 Report Posted February 28, 2012 Exterior wall. Gas forced air. They had insulation stuffed around pipe, and I noticed this red corrosion. Anyone have a clue what it is? Click to Enlarge 37.07?KB
Inspectorjoe Posted February 28, 2012 Report Posted February 28, 2012 WAG: Not corrosion but minute brick particles deposited from a wet saw?
Ben H Posted February 28, 2012 Author Report Posted February 28, 2012 Would be a viable guess, if the house had brick. []
Tom Raymond Posted February 28, 2012 Report Posted February 28, 2012 That looks like condensate on the duct, maybe it's red ink from the paper on the insulation or paint from the edges of the OSB.
plummen Posted March 4, 2012 Report Posted March 4, 2012 Is that wall stack or some sort of single wall flue pipe? [:-magnify
