Mike Lamb Posted November 27, 2011 Report Posted November 27, 2011 I always wanted to pull off the highway on Chicago's SE side and take a pic of those silos and ships off to the east so I did. The port security made me shoot through the fence. Click to Enlarge 72.77 KB
kurt Posted November 27, 2011 Report Posted November 27, 2011 Did you ever get in around the 101st St. Bridge in all that post-apocalyptic looking industrial zone? There's a lot of cool stuff down there. Cool shot.
Mike Lamb Posted November 28, 2011 Author Report Posted November 28, 2011 No, but thanks. It's near by. I'll give it a look.
kurt Posted November 28, 2011 Report Posted November 28, 2011 Yeah, it's like an aging museum of the industrial age that nobody goes to anymore. I find it fascinating.
Jerry Simon Posted November 28, 2011 Report Posted November 28, 2011 Yeah, it's like an aging museum of the industrial age that nobody goes to anymore. I find it fascinating. I grew up on the south side. Used to drive east on 95th street 'till it ended at the water. It was fascinating (especially after a few Ballantines and a high school girl).
kurt Posted November 28, 2011 Report Posted November 28, 2011 Yeah, exactly. East on 95th, hang a right anywhere around the river, weave down into all that burnt out industrial stuff. Lotta rust in that part of town.
Richard Moore Posted November 28, 2011 Report Posted November 28, 2011 I get a kick out of "flying" around the country with Google Earth, so I thought I would try to find Mike's old ship. Is this the right area? Download Attachment: ScreenHunter_01 Nov. 27 20.26.jpg 348.29 KB
Mike Lamb Posted November 28, 2011 Author Report Posted November 28, 2011 That is cool, Richard. It's at about 125th St. I'm the X. You can see the security shack -yellow. It could be the same ship. Click to Enlarge 75.36?KB
