Robert Jones Posted November 13, 2011 Report Posted November 13, 2011 This home had two dimmer switches that when pushed all the way into the up/on position turned off. They also turned off when all the way down as is the norm. Both lights lit and got brighter as normal. Any idea what may cause this? Are there dimmer switches that do this intentionally? Does this post make any sense?
Jim Katen Posted November 13, 2011 Report Posted November 13, 2011 I've never seen ones that acted like that. Was there a tactile detent at the top position where they turned off?
pete moss Posted November 13, 2011 Report Posted November 13, 2011 Are they three-way dimmers? thinking the same what he seems to be describing is an improperly wired 3 way circuit.
Robert Jones Posted November 13, 2011 Author Report Posted November 13, 2011 Thanks guys. Just a regular old sliding dimmer switch. The other dimmer switches worked as usual.
