Jim Katen Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 Anyone else experiencing problems with Frontier email? Seems to have been down for the last 7 or 8 hours.

Jim Katen Posted August 17, 2011 Author Report Posted August 17, 2011 I heard the stagecoach broke an axle! [] You're close. Rumor was that a car accident in Chicago took out a transformer which took down a server. It took the dopes at Frontier over 20 hours to restore service to customers across the nation.

How is it possible that there is no redundancy built in?
kurt Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 What benefit does Frontier provide? I mean, aside from the marketing page stuff, why is it better than google?
Jim Katen Posted August 18, 2011 Author Report Posted August 18, 2011 What benefit does Frontier provide? I mean, aside from the marketing page stuff, why is it better than google? Probably none. They're my *only* choice for internet service (DSL) so I just forward all of my email accounts through them. For those who don't know, Frontier is the company that's over Verizon's accounts across many areas of the country. When it was Verizon, it was pretty reliable. Frontier seems to be prone to screw ups though.
