I wonder if this apprehension by the DEP is a result of regular compliance checks by the DEP or if it's just a case of a contractor being unlucky, like that contractor who violated the EPA's RRP rules a while back?

Marc,

I believe the DEP investigated this contractor due to complaints reported from past customers. I believe at least one of the customer complaints was instigated by a home inspector. When performing a reinspection of repairs, he commented on a newly installed system not in compliance with radon mitigation standards. The seller, who paid for the system, was urged to contact the DEP. The inspector was familiar with the work of Environmental Concepts Technology.
