Restrictive install?

Anyone else think that this type of duct installation leads to air restriction? Almost all of the lower level ducts in the crawl space were installed like this. Out from the trunk and then back across the top of the trunk to the other side of the home.

Guess it would have been to hard to put the take off on the other side to start with.

Makes you wonder?

It's wrong..... I didn't see JBL's installation instructions on- line, which is likely the manufacturer of those ducts. Look at the diagram on page 2 here:bend
