allseason Posted May 25, 2011 Report Posted May 25, 2011 I inspected a house with a large deck which had a sink with hot and cold running water. The drain line goes through the deck floor and discharges onto the ground directly below. What's the call on that? The best part is that they installed a p trap on the drain line under the sink.
Marc Posted May 25, 2011 Report Posted May 25, 2011 Any other kitchen appliances or plumbing fixtures besides the sink? What do you think it's used for? Marc
allseason Posted May 25, 2011 Author Report Posted May 25, 2011 Just a bar area on the deck. No other appliances. Gas grill hookup in another area.
Bill Kibbel Posted May 25, 2011 Report Posted May 25, 2011 If it's obvious that it's for cleaning up bar glasses, dishes and BBQ equipment, it needs to connect to the sanitary. If it's for potting and gardening, ground dump isn't really a concern.
allseason Posted May 25, 2011 Author Report Posted May 25, 2011 Not for the garden, definately for the party scene. My feeling was that it should go to the septic, just nasty what you would end up with under the deck, not to mention the wildlife it would attract. The house is in an area known for black bears. Thanks Bill.
