Neal Lewis Posted May 22, 2011 Report Posted May 22, 2011 Just verify for me that this fitting is wrong for this vent piping in the attic. Should be a sanitary tee? Thanks Click to Enlarge 37.94 KB
mgbinspect Posted May 22, 2011 Report Posted May 22, 2011 In all honesty, once it gets to the vent side, I'm. Just happy if there is one, and don't sweat much other than that. But, that's just me.
ericwlewis Posted May 22, 2011 Report Posted May 22, 2011 looks like a handyman add on. I would be curious where it goes to/ comes from.
Jim Katen Posted June 17, 2011 Report Posted June 17, 2011 Just verify for me that this fitting is wrong for this vent piping in the attic. Should be a sanitary tee? Thanks It's wrong. A sanitary tee would have a built-in angle that would help the vent line to drain properly. Vent shouldn't be horizontal any more than drain lines should.
Jim Morrison Posted June 17, 2011 Report Posted June 17, 2011 I've considered this issue thoughtfully for more than a day and while I fully concede that it's (lower case w) wrong, I can't imagine a world in which I'd devote more than about 45 seconds to the entire affair. I think that it's worth noting, but not worth fixing. Good call, Neal.
