BADAIR Posted March 31, 2011 Report Posted March 31, 2011 Early PVC DWV products were industrial gray. Dark gray is still being used for industrial pressure applications.
kurt Posted March 31, 2011 Report Posted March 31, 2011 Or, somebody had some electrical conduit in the back of the truck.
Jim Katen Posted March 31, 2011 Report Posted March 31, 2011 Anybody ever seen any gray PVC for use on DWV systems. No marking visible. My vote is that it's an electrical conduit coupling. Plumbing fittings are required to be marked.
Tom Raymond Posted March 31, 2011 Report Posted March 31, 2011 It's ok though, since electrical components don't require freeze protection[:-banghea
Brian G Posted April 1, 2011 Report Posted April 1, 2011 Yep, that's an electrical fitting. At the risk of being "improper", I've always found electrical conduit and fittings to be far tougher than their plumbing counterparts (the water line to my old mo-bile home is the same stuff, which easily stood up to being re-trenched by machine). I'd mention it, but confidently tell them not to worry about it. Brian G. Sometimes the *Right* Stuff Isn't the Best Stuff [8]
Denray Posted April 6, 2011 Report Posted April 6, 2011 Schedule 80 coupling. Hardware store propbably was out of the white 40's.
