Erby Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 The door on the first floor is leaking at both sides but the water didn't cause this stuff. Which bug is it that did? hausdok Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 There's only one bug that I know of that's so fastidious that it takes the trash outside to dump it and that's a carpenter ant. ONE TEAM - ONE FIGHT!!! Mike
Erby Posted February 26, 2011 Author Report Posted February 26, 2011 Yeah, I thought so too but didn't want to plant ideas. Thanks for the confirmation. Wonder if they'll actually do the recommended invasive inspection to determine the extent of the damage.

Whatever they were burrowing in, it doesn't look like wood dust, so it may just be superficial damage to ........ whatever that stuff is. Ceiling tile?

Ceiling tile? Foam from inside that metal panel door. I've seen the same thing on overhead garage doors that are foam sandwich. Just a guess, but that's what it looks like, sort of...... Ants like foam; it's a nice warm nesting spot.
Neal Lewis Posted November 22, 2011 Report Posted November 22, 2011 Erby, are there any dead ants or body parts at all?
