mgbinspect Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 Note: This thread is dedicated to information regarding the HUD 203(k) renovation loan, and the opportunities it presents to home inspectors. I considered briefly, years ago, becoming a 203(k) consultant. At the time I was hammered and a quick analysis of the process led me to believe it was too much work for considerably less than I was accustomed to making in a day. Today I had an officer of a pretty large and growing mortgage company practically beg me to start doing them, declaring that the guys doing it in my area are unreliable and their service is pretty pitiful. So, I'm wondering if things have changed for the better, or my original assessment was wrong. Anyone doing this form of consulting? Are you satisfied with the reward for the effort? Any problems or challenges?
