Looks like it. Stuff is good for many uses, but ducts are not one of them. Adhesive will dry out and let go, usually in 6-18 months. HVAC pros will not use it, there are other tapes for ducts that do hold up.

You are right about using it with most ductwork.

When you cut an elbow it is used to tape the joint together, then you staple to each side of the joint because it time the duct tape will turn lose then you cover it with foil tape

One thing is for sure about duct tape. Anytime you see duct tape used in a house, chances are it is used in an improper manner.

Works very well for places on your skin that get rubbed out, like feet in boots or hands in gloves. One layer of best quality duct tape on clean dry skin is like having an extra layer of skin with no added thickness. Works great in my hiking or ski boots and around my thumb for dirt bike riding.[]

I never knew there was improper use for duct tape.

Got a wart? Put some duct tape on it for a day or two. It works.

I asked a dermatologist and my own Dr. why? Niether knew, but both had a story to tell about someone it worked for.
