Use of copper pipes

Hi all,

Some modern plumbing systems now use plastic, but copper pipes are still widely used for most water feeds and central heating pipe work. Can anyone suggest me why copper pipes are so widely used.

Copper pipes are still used because they're really cool looking. You know. All coppery and shiny.
