Les Posted October 31, 2010 Report Posted October 31, 2010 About half of our inspections involve a private water supply. We gotta know a little about pumps etc. Pumps are way more complex than one would imagine. Get an education = read, read, read
Erby Posted October 31, 2010 Report Posted October 31, 2010 You just ain't a hitting far enough out in the boonies, Jon. There's several houses out off Harrodsburg road near the river that are still on cisterns. I looked at one outside of Corinth today that was still on a cistern. 1/4 mile off the highway. $4,000 to connect to public water. Nobody has spent the money yet. I don't know that I've seen a well system here in Kentucky. THey were quite prevalent out in northwest Nebraska. Kentucky groundwater must suck! Here's an online PDF map of wells in the Central Kentucky area. Sure ain't very many of them. http://kgs.uky.edu/kgsweb/olops/pub/kgs/mc30_12.pdf -
