Renron Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 Anybody ever see this b4? I inspected a condo unit with a subpanel for that unit#, sloppy but aok seperate ground bus and all. But to shut the panel down completely it took more than 6 hand movements, too many. The main breaker (single throw) was at the end of the building complex ~65yards away. How should I call that? Open for opinions..... Thanks Ron
hausdok Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 Hi, It is not an issue. I see it all the time. The rule counts at the main disconnect only - not at a sub-panel. However, the occupant must have free access to the main disconnect and must keep the key where it is readily available if he/she has padlocked it. ONE TEAM - ONE FIGHT!!! Mike
Richard Moore Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 Ron... Only rhe service disconnect is required to have 6 or less throws. What you are describing is perfectly normal for a condo disribution panel. In other words...nothing to call.
Renron Posted December 17, 2004 Author Report Posted December 17, 2004 Once again, Thanks guys! Beer all around! Ron P.S. I'll take a Coors Cutters
