  1. Looks like 99.9% brick walls/windows I see.
  2. I know Festool makes a blade for my TS55, but I just can't bring myself to use the saw on such material. I would bet though teamed with a CT extractor, it would capture 95% if the dust. I can cut MDF in my basement and it gets 95% of the dust, and MDF dust is the pits...
  3. Dang... I thought it was a picture till I blew it up. Unreal.
  4. Marc is seeing it. Look down about 4-6 inches from the top plate, and just to the left of the wires, you'll see the shinyness of the lag screw. The beam was toe-nailed into that piece of 2x10, which had a single lag installed through nothing but OSB and vinyl siding. Which of course has rotted out now. I truly do not know how the deck is still standing. You can't see it, but the floor joist overlap this beam like you would see in a crawlspace or basement. When the beam goes, it all comes down.
  5. I know it's only the 14 of Jan, but it can't get much worse than this. For the life of me I don't understand how that beam is still up in the air. One 1/2 lag screw in toasted rotten OSB..... Click to Enlarge 39.08 KB Click to Enlarge 44.71 KB
  6. I find HF to have a few diamonds in the rough. I've had great luck with their paint sprayers and brad nailers. When I was doing lots of fiberglass work, I'd use there angle die grinders to rough sand all the glass down. Never oiled them because it would blow out the exhaust and get all over the piece (causing the paint to do weird stuff). Had one for years with no oil and never did lock it up. That oscillating spindle sander is a Rikon under a different name at 1/2 the cost too.
  7. I wish I could post pics of the house with all the problems. As soon as the dust settles I will. They knew they had a problem after 16 months, the curtain rod fell because the drywall was so wet it couldn't hold the weight any longer. Lots of rot and mold.
  8. I should go frog gigging. It's only been 20yrs or so...
  9. Over the past few years I've seen some really screwed up installs of concrete stone veneer. I called a few manufactures and they didn't seem to offer any kind of install manual, only pointing me to the MVMA guide. But really I got the whole "We just make the stuff, it's up to you to put it on correctly vibe." I was curious if you guys are seeing this stuff fail yet? I got called in by a homeowner last year on a two year old house that was falling to pieces. I'd post pics but we are prepping for court. 3 new construction homes this week and they all were jacked up as well. I've never seen drainage planes, no gaps with sealant at door and windows, and flashing, what's that? They just slap it up and mortar the hell out of everything it touches. I was wondering if this is a KY thing, or is it botched all over. If it is jacked up, what are you guys saying about it. I can foresee lots of houses ending up like my two year old place where the whole front wall is rotten and molded.
  10. Want I really want is to 3 buttons. Top button 100% On, middle button drops to a preset dimmed level, and the bottom is off. I can't be the first person to need such a device.
  11. Looking for a dimmer that will go from 100%, to a preset dimmed setting, then to off. All I found at Lowe's was Off-to-Preset On. Do they make one that adds that Full on position. Hell even a 3 button decora with a slider for the dimmer would be fine.
  12. I'm just now seeing ABS at the big box here. I suppose the supply houses have always had it, but when Lowes and HD start slinging it, I suspect the amount of mixed match installs will skyrocket.
  13. Good luck getting two wall warts at one time in that first pic...
  14. My spouse tells me that telemarketers have a new technology that changes the number every time they call you. It renders useless the DO NOT CALL feature. Marc My phone allows 5 numbers to be programmed under one name. I label all mine "Scam". I just created "Scam 7" last night. Usually a couple times a week Scam 6, or 3 will call.
  15. Best answer.
  16. Have you seen any clamps that are listed for use on a CSST nut? Lowe's sells a Gastite bonding clamp on the shelf with all the CSST stuff, it's a large brass saddle style clamp, that cost around $20.00. I could see no difference between that one and one from the electrical dept for $3 bucks.
  17. Muchas gracias
  18. Does the clamp need to be mounted on the nut of the CSST line, or will a bonding clamp around the black gas pipe be sufficient?
  19. I found no markings whatsoever on the rails. My money is on homemade.
  20. 1) I think so 2)Yup 3)I agree. I felt like I was in Tony Montana house.
  21. Mistaken? Maybe. But more than likely it will require new piece of granite and he ain't interested in paying for that.
  22. Would you say much about them? Click to Enlarge 32.77 KB Click to Enlarge 31.49 KB
  23. If you are looking to purchase an alarm, just pick up something from DEI, or Directed as they call themselves now. It's all the same stuff, meaning there is no difference is Viper/Avitol/Clifford/Automate, etc... It's the same, just different packaging and remotes. You will pay more for Viper though. I spent the better part of 15 years installing remote starts & alarms, and if you need a wiring diagram, I can get you a breakdown of your ride if you need.

  25. I noticed today my local Lowe's is still selling the Gree. Wonder when they will pull it from the shelves?
