  1. Could the shingles be Masonite Woodruf?
  2. It has been my experience that after the initial start of heavy enough rust you see movement. You don't see move much movement after that as you have lost enough surface area around the lintel.
  3. Not enough soffit vents.

  12. I inspected a 1880's farm house near El Dorado KS. The whole house was black walnut from true 2"* 4" wall studs to a 18" * 18" hand hewn main beam even the subfloor and roof decking were walnut.
  13. Looking at what I can see in the pictures are you sure that wasn't a tape seem? looks like some one patched the wall with tape but put no mud behind the tape
  14. Are Pot houses common on this side of the border? To be honest I wouldn't have know it was a pot house. I would have seen the hole in the fire place. but I would have just thought wtf and wrote it up. I sure we have all seen the things home owners do and just don't ask why. We see meth houses here quite often.
  15. So How did it work with all that snow covering the condenser this weekend? I used to see it when the flips were hot and heavy. Haven't seen it for several years now. The funnest one was when it was a heat pump but the furnace was replaced than the outside condenser a moth later with a none heat pump. Worked in cooling mode, but when you turned it to heat well it cooled as well.
  16. Looks like Ames water proofing. Any time I have seen it applied it was protected with a drainage mat. Link http://www.amesresearch.com/basement.htm

  22. Disconnect is 7 feet from the hot tub so not an issue. It is a newer 4 wire being fed by a 4 wire so not an issue. Where is the issue? You wrote before 3 wire. and the fact that it is seven feet still makes it a problem. Also when asking trick questions you might include the install date.
  23. How far away is the outside disconnect from the hot tub? Also is it a three wire older hot tub or a new one Four wire?
  24. Les, Can you post a link? I googled but there are no searches that match What he has posted. http://www.google.com/search?client=saf ... 8&oe=UTF-8
  25. If it's on the outside of the plumbing vent pipe look around the first joint there should be stains on the insulation. Put your flashlight on the pipe you should be able to see through it and watch for dripping down the pipe in the attic. But if it's only when its cold where's the furnace flue located?
