  4. They have two new cool features. You impute the outdoor and indoor ambient temperatures and indoors it will show you what areas are close to due point. The second thing is you can shoot the ceiling and it will tell you if you have the correct amount of insulation. $6750 and my wife will leave me. I told her it's a lot cheaper than it was... she walked away. Captain
  5. I went to a seminar given by Flir this morning and I didn't buy one. Two reasons for not buying, one is simple and that is they are coming out with new models in August and two I just can't seem to figure out as to where does this technology belongs in our profession. Theses cameras give you a lot of information and if you in return give it to your everyday home buyer it will confuse and confound them. I guess I'll just wait until I can find the right application or when my wife leaves me. Captain
  6. Jerry First off the black on white is to striking. Maybe use a light tan background. I don't like the use of all that red for emphasis.Kinda third grade. Way too much info on front page. Most buyers don't give a crap about ASHI, or understand deal killer. What is "most all of Norther Illinois" mean. Your picture is too dark. To much chest pounding. Think of all the clients you have and why did they use you. Good luck and please you asked. Captain

  12. Martin You would take one end of the lead and place it on the patio cover. The other end of the lead you would place on the bonding wire. Now when I say bonding wire we are usually talking about somewhere in the vicinity of the pump. I made a device based on Norm and a gentleman by the name of Burt Silver. It was a fishing rod but the line in the fishing rod was wire. On the base of the fishing rod was an electric meter. At the end of the line (wire) was an alligator clip. I use this for couple years however it was a pain neck. If I remember correctly I was able to check the bonding of the pool by putting the line in the water and the other alligator clip on a known bonding surface. Mitchell miss you Norm

  14. This is from the watts website "BUILD-UP WHICH CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH AND/OR SEVERE PROPERTY DAMAGE. IMPORTANT: A relief valve functions in an emergency by discharging water. Therefore, it is essential that a discharge line be piped from the valve in order to carry the overflow to a safe place of disposal. The discharge line must be the same size as the valve out- let and must pitch downward from the valve and terminate at least 6"(152mm) above the floor drain where any discharge will be clearly visible. For 100DT discharge line consult your Watts agent. USA: 815 Chestnut St., No. Andover, MA 01845-6098; www.wattsreg.com Canada: 5435 North Service Rd., Burlington, ONT. 15. The reason for a 6" minimum is you don't get a large backsplash. If you go down to 3/4" that water will backsplash and may cause harm or damage. Captain
  16. It is not an assumption it is fact. I have viewed and reviewed reports from home inspectors that get referrals and the majority of then go easy on the house. I'll make this simple for you. Not all home inspectors that get referrals from Realtors are friendly to the house. Some are some are not. And you answered the hypothesis, no I don't have to remember or think who my client is. I have no problems with inspectors who get referrals. Just give your client a disclosure stating that you have solicited the Realtor for referrals. I think it will help you in court when you tell the judge that my client knew I solicit Realtors for referrals and just because I solicit Realtors doesn't mean they are my client. 17. Because I have viewed and reviewed many reports from "inspectors" in our profession. My favorite comment from those who do market Realtors is " the condition of the roof is average for its age." We all started the same way calling on Realtors. At some point in time I realized that in order to truly work for your client you have to decide who that client is. Captain
  18. There is nothing inherently wrong in calling Realtors. It is when your report reflects marketing, that is wrong. Captain
