  1. You are right Scott, they would only pay to replace the 3 pieces on the south side that had holes in them. I guess I could send pictures and make a fuss, showing that it looked bad, but with so little damage, I really doubt they would pay to reside the whole house. (It is rather large) And even if they sided just the one side, the way my house is built, it still would be noticable. Thanks everyone for your input, I will keep searching for a product that will put the shine back on the surrounding siding without having to go to a great expense. If not, guess will have to live with it.
  2. Got some hail damage on my vinyl siding. When siding person replaced some strips of siding, it looks much shinier than the existing siding. My old siding is 10 years old. I have tried using a siding cleaner on it to make it shiny too, but still is very noticable. Does anyone have a solution to downplay the shine on the new siding, or make the surrounding siding more shiny, or has anyone used a product to clean siding that really works?

    New roof

Les, if you are in town (we live in country, really) just come on out and I will be glad to show you my new psychedelic roof. ha. I will look for the Hummer. In all seriousness, thanks to all who answered me, you were great help. I spoke with my pro. roofer today and told him my concerns (he didn't understand-they all look that way??) will look at roof in 3 months and if still not satisfied, will get Tamko out here and try to get those shingles replaced.

    New roof

Image Insert: 115.38 KB Here is a picture of lines in roof speaking of. I guess this is way they should look??? Roofer says black line will fade with heating of roof. Hope he is right. This picture doesn't show up too good, lines are much darker.

    New roof

My new roof is about 1/2 installed (front half and two end gables) and when we were looking at the roof this a.m., we noticed it has diagonal streaking about every 2-3' going across the roof. We don't like the way it looks, very unattractive. These asphalt shingles are Tamko 25 year grade. Do you know if there is a way these streaks can be fixed without tearing off the whole roof and starting over? We have a big house.
