The Polaris water heater is made by American Water Heater Group. First 2 digits in serial number give the year of manufacture. This particular unit was made in 1995 so it is 12 years old. I ran across a Polaris High Efficiency water heater used to supply hot water for the homes heating system. (combination system with the hot water heater coupled to a fan coil unit) The water heater is 10 years old. Does anyone have any experience with these units? What is the expected life for them? The unit appeared to be in good condition except for 2 galvanized elbows used to connect the heating loop. The elbow are on the verge of failure with heavy corrosion / rust.

Hi, I have been using AHIT Inspectit software for about 1 1/2 years. I did purchase the Palm version of the software. I was frustrated and gave up using it. It basically replaces an inspection checklist. You cannot produce a finished report from the Palm. You have to link the Palm with your laptop and then add photographs on your laptop. I am actively looking for a better inspection reporting system. I find that Inspectit is very time consuming when you try to add pictures or illustrations.
