  1. If A contractor who works for Lowes installed it I doubt than anything about the installation is correct. That's a safe bet. As for the guy from Trane: 1)How in the heck does he know fer sure that there's 1,200 CFM flowing through the air handler? Did he test it with a balometer or something? 2) A lower air flow rate shifts your btu/hr from cooling the air to removing humidity but if you drop it too much, you'll have problems with the coil making ice. Marc I don't know how he knew about this. They took measurements Is this not how this is done? there are all kinds of tables in the brochures about flow, temp etc
  2. It is depressing to hear about the Lowes contractor "If A contractor who works for Lowes installed it I doubt than anything about the installation is correct." The guy from trane did not show a company ID- what was I thinking !! he was brought by Tane territory manager. said that this guy is the one for the entire Richmond region and trains all the installers.I have no idea what to believe. How do i find out "manufacturer listed compatible unit?" Thanks again. i have no idea when all this will end. The stress is too much
  3. the outdoor unit is model number 4TTR3036E1000A. is this compatible with the indoor unit? Somebody from Trane came home , checked the system and said 1. this air handler is creating the necessary air flow of 1200 2. This is more efficient in dehumidifying the air in summer are these correct? What is the cost of the 2.5 ton vs 3 ton , i need to get reimbursed and would like to have this knowledge when i argue with Lowes Thanks for all the help
  4. I understand that but from the model number can you say it is 2.5 or 3 ton?
  5. I posted under hydro heat about my problems with my new trane system. They continue My air handler model is TAM7A0B30H21sc does this it is a 2.5 ton or 3 ton. My quote was for 3 ton. AC is 3 ton thanks
  6. Thank you. i will ask about the thermostat. it is new and is trane digital. So many things have gone wrong that may be the wiring is wrong. however, they keep telling me it is fine and it is supposed to cycle like that!. I am thinking of getting a second opinion. another question it is very cold in Va now, rather unusual. My home is about 2600 sq ft. I was told this produces 50,000BTU. Is this sufficient to maintain a temp of 70 degrees. i find that in this extreme cold, it cannot go higher than 66-68. I never really noticed this in all these years i lived here
  7. I am wondering why no one has answered me.Should I post it elsewhere. Hope i will have a response soon
  8. sorry if i am posting this again but something happened and what i was typing disappeared. I came to this forum while googling. I had a hydroheat recently installed. trane air handler, trane hydrocoil and trane outdoor system. I always had hydroheat- apollo. i replaced it simply because it was 18 yrs old and wanted to be proactive My problem is how frequently the new system cycles- about 9-10 mts off and 10mts on.I can;t recall the old system doing this. I have a new state water heater- 75 gallons. There are very intelligent people here and hope to get some help The installers are nice but this proving too difficult fro them. i went with one of big stores thinking the installers would have been checked out. I am totally disappointed
